The BFC 123 Contest Series
|
The BFC 123 Contest Series is a collection of contests in the Seattle area. We just finished of the series for the summer of 2006. Some of the most talented in the area gathered to compete and push skateboarding in new directions. At the sixth and final contest, a single overall winner was chosen and awarded as
the 2006 Kronik Energy Ramp Champ. And that went to the well-deserving Dan Ching.
There was a ton of incredible skating that went down. And the judges soaked in and considered everything that occured throughtout the season. In the end, Dan came in strong. He entered 5 out of the 6 contests and won 8 slots in all...
1st at Shoreline
3rd at Woodinville
3rd at Mercer Island
Best trick at Woodinville (nollie 270 heelflip on the hip)
Best trick at Mercer Island (manual 360 kickflip out on Pier 7)
Best trick at Bellevue Bowl (360 flip to rock, hardflip to nose)
Best trick at Inner Space (backside 360 flip on bank)
Winner of Ledge Skate at Mercer Island
But that's not all. Also very notable is his sick style and wow-factor when he whips out nollie 270 heelflips on hips and switch tails to 270 out on rails. HIs good attitude and humility are a big part of why he fits the role of Ramp Champ. He's most comfortable on street, but one of the things that stood out to us is when he ventured in the bowl contest and skated with the tranny-dogs. He was injured too. Sick Dan... best overall skater of the 2006 BFC123 Contest Series.
Dan received a full prize package supplied by Kronik Energy. Be sure to check out his interview and the contest trailer and photos.

Wondering about the 2007 Series? The Sammamish skatepark sounds like it could likely be the first contest to launch us off in the spring of 2007. A skatepark video contest will also be part of the series. We will post the events and info when the new season arrives.
